Cody

Sitting in the rosemary bush. Still, when I smell Rosemary I think of Cody.

I created Tony Tales out of compassion as mom for my 4 year old child, Tony, after the loss of his 8 year old Golden Retriever, Cody.

Tony had not known life with out Cody, or his brother Casey. They were big and beautiful.  When Cody began to get sick and eventually died, I -  as a mother -  was unarmed with the correct words and/or concepts to explain to a 4 year old what had happened to Cody.

I turned to my veterinarian for help first, then the library and finally the book stores.  Although there were great books out there, they did not fit what I was wanting to accomplish.

I wanted Tony to know that he had a choice in what happened to Cody.  I wanted to empower him with the decision making of Cody's death.

Also, I wanted Tony not to fear Cody's death.  I wanted Tony aware that Cody was in a better place, compared to being ill here on earth.

Tony Tales developed into two books.

Doggy Heaven's in the Sky and Kitty Heaven's in the Sky.  One with a male child loosing his dog, and the other with a females child loosing her cat.

Each similarly written for a 4 - 8 year old's developmental level and viewing pleasure.

Our Goals
  • To maintain the highest sensitivity to children and families that have experienced the loss of a pet.
  • To provide high quality books for children ages 4 - 8.
  • To  promote a dialog between parent and child regarding the conversations needed to discuss the death of a pet.
